Your Child Is on the Waitlist. Don't wait. Keep preparing. Be ready when the opportunity comes.

Updated: Oct 5
You have applied to an international school in Tokyo and your child has been placed on a waitlist.
So what does this mean for your family?
It means that the school has more qualified applications than it has places available.
There is still a possibility that a place will become available, but the school may not know exactly when that will happen.
After initial decisions go out, accepted families usually have a limited amount of time to make their final decision.
The school then knows how many places, if any, are available.
If your child is waitlisted, ask the admissions team how their waitlist works and when they expect to know whether a place may become available.
But don't stop preparing.
Keep working on the skills your child will need for their next opportunity.
If a place becomes available, your child will be ready. If another school becomes an option, you will be ready to apply. Either way, you are using the waiting period to move your child forward rather than simply waiting for an answer.
We work with families preparing their children for international school admissions in Tokyo, helping them develop the academic, language, and learning skills they need to be ready when the next opportunity comes.
