What are Rolling Admissions? Prepare first. Then, when the opportunity comes, your child is ready to take it.

Updated: Oct 5
Some international schools in Tokyo use rolling admissions.
Instead of having one application deadline, the school accepts and reviews applications throughout the year.
For example, Canadian International School of Tokyo states on its website that there is no specific application period and that it accepts applications year-round, depending on available spaces in each grade.
This means you don't necessarily have to wait until the next school year to apply.
For families relocating to Japan, rolling admissions can offer more flexibility. You can apply when you are ready rather than having to wait for the next admissions cycle.
But there is an important consideration for parents: if you can apply at any time, your child needs to be ready at any time.
If your child needs support with English, reading, writing, math, or classroom independence, don't wait until you find an available place to start preparing.
Prepare first. Then, when the opportunity comes, your child is ready to take it.
We work with families preparing their children for international schools in Tokyo, helping them develop the skills they need to be ready when the right opportunity becomes available. Kinota - kinota@morethanjusttutoringtokyo.com
