Want to help your child get ready for international school? Here is a tip I used to tell parents when I worked at the International School of the Sacred Heart in Tokyo.

Read to your child.

Two books a day.

Yes, it can be the same book.

If your child likes the story, keep reading it.

I recommend starting when your child is a baby and reading two books a day.

Let's say you keep it up for five years.

There are 52 weeks in a year.

That's 14 books a week.

Let me pull out my calculator here...

14 books a week × 52 weeks × 5 years = 3,640 books.

That's a lot of books.

Which ones do you choose?

Send me a message at kinota@morethanjusttutoringtokyo.com and I'll send you some book recommendations. Kinota Braithwaite - Learning & Assessment Specialist
